Part time Payroll Clerk
Village of Sebring, Ohio
Starting pay $13.28 per hour- up to 20 hours per week. May lead to a full time position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- One year minimum with payroll, especially local government involving OPERS and OP & F.
- Preferred familiarity with Ohio Business Gateway and payroll taxes.
- One year experience or training with modern office equipment (e.g., computer); Microsoft Office
- Proficient with typing/data entry.
- General experience with accounts payable.
- Flexible schedule.
Example of Duties:
1. Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and submission of employee payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
2. Maintain accurate attendance and leave records for employees to support payroll activity. Maintain a backup and reconciled record of paid leave balances for all employees.
3. Respond to requests for information from employees and administrators regarding payroll calculations, attendance & leave records.
4. Act as the liaison with other state and local agencies/employers regarding payroll matters as may be necessary.
5. Coordinate personnel paperwork with department heads and/or Manager at time of initial employment, pay & leave status changes, and at time of termination of employment relationship with the Village.
6. Establish and maintain payroll related statistical databases and spreadsheets including, but not limited to, employee severance cost projections, paid leave balances, employee yearly leave usage and historical wage information.
7. Match Leave Requests submitted with payroll time sheets.
8. Calculate actual time worked for employees requesting FMLA (Family and Medical Leave) time.
9. Monitor anniversary dates for movement from one accrual rate to another.
10. Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll related data.
